About the data
This page explains how Jichitai Watch handles the data it publishes.
Sources
Each card states the data provider (such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Children and Families Agency or the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare), the name of the survey and the date of the last update. You can check the source at the bottom of each card. As a rule, the data are based on statistics published by the national government and local governments.
Figures we have processed
Where Jichitai Watch has calculated or processed figures itself (for example, by converting amounts to amounts per resident), this is stated, together with who carried out the processing (Jichitai Watch), so that you can tell them apart from unprocessed statistical data.
Extraction and summarisation by AI
Jichitai Watch may use AI to organise statistical data. Content generated or extracted by AI is labelled as such, and is clearly marked as unofficial information that requires verification. If you need accurate information, please check the primary source shown alongside it.
Licences
Many of the datasets we publish are open government data released under the Public Data License (Version 1.0, PDL1.0) or similar terms. They may be freely reused on condition that the source is credited and, where the data have been processed, that fact is stated. Where a provider sets different terms of use, the terms of the source given on each card apply.
The site's source code is published under the MIT License below. The MIT License applies to the source code; it does not set the terms of use for the data we publish.

Sources of maps and icons
The Gifu Prefecture-shaped icons on the home page and on the Gifu Prefecture page were made by processing Global Map Japan (Geospatial Information Authority of Japan) (https://www.gsi.go.jp/kankyochiri/gm_jpn.html). These data are subject to the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) Website Terms of Use. We obtained it from converted data published on GitHub (dataofjapan/land), and Jichitai Watch simplified and redrew the outlines.
The industry icons on the Top three industries card are based on designs from Lucide (ISC License). The copyright notice and licence text are as follows.
